about

An audible cult/horror film for the soundtrack enthusiast.

This fictional story is about a failed and rejected cult leader named Lazireth who preys on new and vulnerable people moving to LA. Lazireth is a person like you’ve never seen before. Born with a deformed face, Lazireth lives in the night, wearing a dark indigo mask with red piercing eyes that help him see at night. His walk is slow and predatory, always ready for his next victim. He is a real monster of a man. Some would call him......a serial killer.

One week before October 31st, on a brisk cold night, the fog is rolling into the town of El Sereno accentuating the eerie Halloween decor of the neighborhoods. A transplant college couple by the name of Sarah and Steve go out for drinks at a new industrial warehouse party downtown before returning back to Steve's apartment in El Sereno. Unbeknownst to them, they have caught the eye of a mysterious man that has been stalking them on their date. After loosening up on a few more drinks, the couple smokes a joint and has sex back at Steve’s apartment. Steve heads to the bathroom to freshen up and get dressed so he can take Sarah home…but never returns back into the bedroom. Growing worried, Sarah begins checking the apartment, discovering a naked man in the shadows of the hallway. Things begin to move in slow motion for Sarah as she sees the lifeless body of her boyfriend on the floor.

Sarah frantically runs out the side door of the apartment and the chase begins! Her luck runs out for the helpless college girl as the mysterious man catches up to her in an empty park nearby. The man knocks her out and drugs her. The last thing she sees before blacking out, is a blue face with red eyes.

Sarah opens her eyes cloudy of what had previously transpired and where she is. She is now in an abandoned house outside of the big city of LA. The smell inside reminds her of an old dead cat she found by the dumpsters when she was a child. As she looks around , she realizes that the smell is coming from two dismembered decomposing bodies lying on the living room floor. The man in the blue mask begins reciting a sermon with great vigor over the dead bodies calling on them to be disciples to the Empty One that lives in the great black hole of space. He asks them to rise up to meet their leader . The speech sounded strange to Sarah as the man delivered it with a slurred tongue. The man identifies himself as the serial killer named Lazireth that has been terrorizing the city for the past five months. Sarah screams and begins to pray. Lazireth freaks out when he hears her pray not to his God and grows angry. In an attempt to stop her, he clubs her in the head. The blow to her head is fatal and he begins to simultaneously laugh and cry hysterically. He lays her next to the bodies who had previously disobeyed him.

After 6 hours of “ceremony” with the bodies, he leaves behind a small percussive bell at the foot of each one of them. The bell is for the Empty One that will ring when it comes to take them home. Lazireth vanishes into the early rising sun of the next morning. He is still lurking to this day leaving behind bodies and bells for his maker.
